About the book

The story begins in New Hampshire in 1948 with the birth of Brian Whittier. Two years later in California, a cousin is born, Rebecca Chandler, but is scarcely known to Brian until tragedy strikes. The two, now older, are destined to become friends and attend college together, each supporting the other as they search for that special someone. This then is their story, a story dramatically interrupted by A Letter for Rebecca, arriving with astonishing news.
