INSTALLING THE PROGRAM:
NOTE: TMSforms MUST be installed on your computer’s C drive
To install under all 32 bit versions of  Windows
-from the Taskbar Start menu, select Start then Run
-type d:\setup.exe and press the enter key (substitute the letter of the drive that you are installing the program from for the letter “d”)
-follow install instructions.

OPENING A FORM:

Open the Tmsforms program.  At the main menu, click on the Forms icon.  You will see two windows.  One is entitled "Blank Forms....." with a note, "Right mouse click for directory."  Listed below are all the master forms within your copy of TMSforms.

CALCULATING WITHIN A FORM:

If your form has calculation within it, the form will automatically calculate as you tab or click into the fields requiring totals.

SAVING A FORM:

After you have completed filing out the form, you will want to save the form under another name or you will overwrite the master form.  NOTE: You are limited to a file name that consists of no more than eight letters and/or numbers with no spaces. Verson 4.0: You can name as you would any 32 bit program exceeding the 8 letters of numbers.  Click on File from the main menu then click on Save As. Listed in the window on the left are all the master form files.  Listed in the window to the right are directories corresponding to each type form found in your copy of TMSforms.  Left mouse click on the directory that matches form.  Replace the file name found in the File Name window with the new name.  The file name can be any combination of letters and numbers not to exceed eight characters. It is not necessary to add the extension .tbk. The program does this automatically.  After naming the file, click OK.
NOTE: If you forget to select Save As and instead selected Save, you will overwrite the master.  This is not a problem.  Reopen the master form file as described above then from the main menu select Text, then select Clear all fields pg#.  This clears all text from form.  Now select File, then Save, and the master form is restored to its original blank status.

OPENING A PREVIOUSLY SAVED FORM:

Open TMSforms to the main menu. Right click on the forms listed in the left window. All forms saved to the directory associated with this form appear in the window to the right.  Clicking on the file in the right window will open it.

PRINTING A FORM:

Select File, then Print. Then select all pages to print all pages associated with the form.  If you want to print a form front to back, select This Page Only and print the page on the screen. Then from the main menu select Page, then Next.  Reinsert the page you just printed so as to print on the blank side, then select File, Print Pages, and This Page Only.
NOTE: The program will print multiple form pages on one page by selecting the desired format in the Arrangement window from Print Pages.  Select the arrangement two, four, eight, sixteen, or thirty-two pages.  Select preview to see what this would look like.

The program’s form orientation is by default portrait/vertical. To print a form whose orientation is landscape/horizontal, click File, Print Setup, Setup, then in the Orientation block click the radio button for Landscape. NOTE: The orientation will remain landscape in all program you use until you change it back using the same steps as stated above.

If the form you are printing is legal size (8 ½  x 14), you must select this size before you print the form. To do this, click File, Print Setup, Setup, then select legal 8 ½ X 14 in the paper size window. NOTE: The orientation will remain landscape in all program you use until you change it back using the same steps as stated above.

If the form you print has letters that are off or some lines do not show up, make sure you have the right printer selected i.e. HP 5 Enhanced instead of HP5 Standard. Also, be sure that you have the highest quality of printing selected. To check this, you should select File–Print Setup–Setup–Print Quality then select the highest setting offered. If you are having trouble with your printer printing all parts of the form i.e. some lines are not printing out, you can print the form as a bitmap.  To do this select File, Print Pages, Options, then select Bitmap and Scale to fit printer margins.

USING THE EDIT OPTION:

The Edit option found on the main menu works as in all Windows programs.  Use this to cut, copy, past, find, and replace text within the document.

CHANGING TEXT ATTRIBUTES:

Click on the block in which you wish to change the text font or other attributes. From the main menu, select Text, then Character, then select the font or the other desired attributes available.  Type the text. Repeat the process for each block on the form.

By selecting Text, then Paragraph, you can change text Alignment, Spacing, Indentation, and Tabs. Text also allows you to elect to superscript or subscript text and to clear all text from the form.

MOVING FROM ONE PAGE TO ANOTHER IN A FORM:

Select Page from the main menu then select Previous or Next to move around in a form.

REMOVING THE YELLOW HIGHLIGHTING.

When a field in a form is selected, it is highlighted in yellow. If you print the form with the yellow highlighting still showing, that file will print with a darkened shadow. To remove this yellow highlighting, click on Remove Highlights from the main menu, then select Remove Highlights.  Highlighting can also be removed by clicking in the margin of the form.

EXITING THE PROGRAM:

When you exit the program, TMSforms will not ask you if you want to save the file.  Do not forget to save your work often and before you exit editing a form.
