This book will give the beginner a practical approach to learn to play or sing, and help the experienced musician become better. This book won't teach you how to play a specific instrument. Instead, it will guide you towards techniques of learning that you may not have thought of. 

About the Author
The author, Douglas W. Trammel, has been involved in music for over fifty years. He holds a B.S. and an M.S.in Music Education from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C.  Doug was a band director for 10 years in the public school system in North Carolina, and has taught private bass lessons at the college level and in his own studio. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Young Educator Award in the first school system where he taught. As a teacher, he has taught all school band instruments and has had many outstanding students. Doug is active in orchestral work and performs with several jazz bands in Western North Carolina.
