Sex and Your Heart Health

About the book

The study of the heart and heart disease is one of the most complex areas of medicine and one of the most difficult to master. Sex and Your Heart Health describes how heart disease impacts sex and marriage. The authors have distilled and condensed a massive amount of information in their book. Besides providing realistic information on heart disease and sex, they offer practical strategies for living a heart-healthy life.

Sex and Your Heart Health is an up-to-date summary of the latest information on heart disease and how it can affect a person’s sex life.  This book is written in a conversational, easy-to-understand style aimed at the general reader.  However, it is comprehensive enough to satisfy the needs of nurses, medical students, marriage counselors, and other professionals who work with patients with heart disease.  Sex and Your Heart Health also contains information that will help healthy people maintain active sex lives.

Sex and Your Heart Health leads readers through descriptions of the anatomy and functions of the sex organs, heart, and blood vessels.  It gives concise reviews of current tests and treatments for heart disease and sexual dysfunction.  Readers without heart disease will find helpful advice on diet, exercise, and living a healthy lifestyle.  Readers with heart disease will discover valuable information about how their disease affects their overall health and ability to have sex.  Every reader will learn about the causes of heart disease and the state-of-the-art techniques doctors use to evaluate and treat it.

Sex and Your Heart Health is sprinkled with medical school memoirs, anecdotes, and jokes to lighten and illustrate its purely factual material.  It also touches on the roles of a good marriage, reducing stress, and spirituality in enhancing both sexual and cardiovascular well-being.
